Katie-bridals, part 1 - Columbus Ms Photographer

Yes, I know I need to fix the header and background... gotta find some extra time somewhere... I feel so behind most days... :)  thanks for being patient!

Anyway... yall!  I have been sitting on this bridal session for months now and Im so excited that I finally get to show it to you.... Its one of my all time favorites, but Katie was amazing even though it was freezing cold, she was such a trooper and she let me do my job and wasnt worried about the dress (which we took great care with!) - and I think the risks of it all worked out amazingly... just beautiful.... and because of that, I had to break this session into two parts - I know I should have paired these down, but I cant help myself, they are too gorgeous for you not to get to see them... and keep in mind, these were all done in an hour.... I love my job!

Ill post some more from the second half of our session tomorrow.... yay!  2013 is already starting out wonderfully... how can I make your year better?

Amber - butterfly

I really wanted a Madame Butterfly feel to this, and I think Amber did an amazing job. I loved her makeup and hair and she was a dream to work with.

I am so behind on pictures and need to do a lot of uploading, so stayed tune... :)

Angel

This was just a quick impromptu shoot that I did with Angel - one of the most beautiful people Ive ever met in person. She was staying at a local antebellum bed and breakfast and the owner let us play dress up with one of the costumes. So much fun and I love how the pictures turned out.

The Winter Queen

I took these last spring after it had rained a good bit. This was a cypress hollow that normally is just dirt/mud and cypress stumps, but after it rains, it fills up and becomes magical. I had this idea brewing in my head for awhile - I wanted a winter queen - similar to the White Witch in the Narnia series, but I wanted her to be a little bit softer and more fluid (hence the water and the reflections in the water). And because I live in Mississippi, working in the snow wasnt much of a possibility, but I still wanted it to have a "cool" vibe. I made the crown and necklace out of paper - I liked the idea of the queen being vulnerable and wanted to express that with the paper - if it touches the water, its done for. Model is Katina Chandler and thankfully she was brave enough to take on this shoot - I am forever grateful. Love the lines of her body and the ripples.
And she couldnt be a queen without something to rule... so I made tons of these paper origami boats - like I said, since they were paper, they didnt last long, but I still love the fragility of them.
This one is so magical to me.Probably my favorite.I really wanted these to have an old, storybook feel to them, and I was happy with how they turned out. And just for note, these werent super-manipulated in photoshop - I did change the white balance and tones a bit to get that "winter" look that I wanted, and also I burned/darkened some of the water in spots so it would show the contrast of the ripples better, but thats about it.
